WCEA accredits Catholic elementary and secondary schools in nine western states (26 (arch) dioceses) and the US Territory of Guam. WCEA co-accredits and is in partnership with three Regional agencies (WASC, NAAS, NCA CASI) and two private agencies (CAIS and HAIS). WCEA began in 1957 in San Francisco and has a long and successful history of assisting school improvement through the accreditation process.
This was a very busy week. The students had their projects and papers on display for our Open House on Thursday February 27th from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Thank you to everyone who came by the hall and the classrooms to see what the students have been working on here at school. First grade had on display their story boxes. Third grade had on display the animal reports and the animal habitats. The fourth grade had on display their California mission models. The fifth grade had on display the solar system models that they made. The sixth grade had on display their volcano models. The seventh grade had on display their cell models of meiosis and mitosis. The eighth grade had on display their element reports. The presentations and projects made by the students demonstrates the wide range of curriculum subjects that we teach here at St. Helen’s Catholic School. The eighth grade students were reminded that their time here at St. Helen’s is drawing to a close. On Tuesday they were measured for their graduation gowns. On Thursday the fifth grade students were in school dressed in costume to present their president report to the class and to their visitors. Friday was our monthly general assembly and we recognized our students of the month and enjoyed the saint and composer presentations by students in the fourth grade. Saturday, March 1st, was the regional Science Olympiad competition at the Clovis North campus. Next week I will announce how Mr. LeFay’s students did.
