St. Helen’s Catholic School is accredited by the Western Catholic Educational Association (WCEA). WCEA accredits Catholic elementary and secondary schools in nine western states (26 (arch) dioceses) and the US Territory of Guam. WCEA co-accredits and is in partnership with three Regional agencies (WASC, NAAS, NCA CASI) and two private agencies (CAIS and HAIS). WCEA began in 1957 in San Francisco and has a long and successful history of assisting school improvement through the accreditation process.
January is a very busy month here at St. Helen’s. This week we had the second trimester Parent/Teacher/Student conferences. This was a good opportunity for the parents and the teachers to sit down and talk about the progress their children are making. Friday we had our monthly general assembly and announced our students of the month. The 7th grade students shared some interesting information about the composer and artist they have been studying about this month. The month will end with the celebration of Catholic Schools’ Week starting January 30th and ending on February 3rd. The theme this year is Faith, Academics and Service. We will have Scholastic Book Fair set up in the hall all week and the Student Council has planned a variety of activities for the students to enjoy.
St. Helen’s School offers an outstanding curriculum to children, starting at 4 years, in our Junior Kindergarten program, through 8th grade within a Christ centered environment. We still have seats available in several classes and will continue to accept applications for the 2011-2012 school year. If you are interested in enrolling your child, or children, or have questions about our school, please feel free to visit the school office during our regular hours. The school office will be open Monday through Friday from 7:30 A.M. to 4:00 P.M., or call us at 251-5855. You are welcome to visit the campus during these hours also. Our office staff would be happy to give you a tour and answer any questions that you may have.
If you would like to participate in our Scholarship Club and financially support our school or a student of our school please contact the office.
I, along with the faculty and staff of St. Helen’s Catholic School would like to thank Fr. Gene and the entire St. Helen’s parish community for your prayers and constant support. We as a community, are working together to provide an excellent academic foundation along with a moral and spiritual life for the children that have been entrusted to us.
